MAKNA strongly support UICC’s mission and has taken initiative in raising awareness by celebrating World Cancer Day at the highest peak in Malaysia, Mount Kinabalu. On World Cancer Day 2012 a team of cancer survivors, volunteers and staff will scale the 4,095 meter high Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. We aim to raise cancer awareness and to encourage pro-active steps to aid in its prevention, detection, and treatment.

Kanser Klimb is coined with ‘K’ owing to the location of Mount Kinabalu that is located at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

World Cancer Day is a global observance that helps raise people’s awareness of cancer and how to prevent, detect or treat it. This event is held on February 4 each year. It is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), a global consortium of more than 470 cancer-fighting organisations in over 120 countries.

Cancer organisations all over the world focus on issues similar to UICC. Together, we aim to save millions of lives through awareness initiatives and unite under the global banner in raising awareness on cancer.

Come, Get Involved! Kanser Klimb to Mount Kinabalu is also a fundraiser. We target to raise RM50,000 (USD16,330). Help us reach our target!
