The idea of early cancer detection contributing to higher chance of survival is what drove the creation of mobile breast screening service initially mooted by MAKNA in 2007.
After successfully undergoing and satisfying all the necessary requirements laid down by the Ministry of Health and other authorities, the-first-of-its kind, MAKNA Mobile Breast Screening Unit finally saw the light of day when it strode out proudly in 2011. Since then, many targeted women groups have had themselves checked for breast cancer, thanks to this facility and the well-trained staff handling its operations.
The mammography services are housed in a customised 40-feet mobile trailer which contains all the equipment and machines to screen for breast cancer in an environment of comfort and convenience, and where privacy is assured and given top priority.
