MAKNA has been funding
young local researchers and scientists with promising cancer research proposals
for the last 12 years. This year, we have three grant recipients.
The project, MAKNA Cancer Research Award receives collaboration and support from the Academy of Sciences, Malaysia (ASM) who also assists in the selection of the eventual grant recipients.
The three recipients were selected from a pool of 15 applications, two of them are employees while another is a university student. The researchers Dr. Yeap Swee Keong (Universiti Putra Malaysia), Dr. Ho Wan Yong (The University of Nottingham - Malaysia Campus) and Cik Noorfaiza A. Aziz (Universiti Teknologi Mara) each received RM30,000.
